Stuff I’m doing.

Back On Stage!

I hate updating! But here goes. I'm doing a Neil Simon-esque play about Brooklyn Jews in the 1960's, aptly enough titled Jews, Christians & Screwing Stalin. It opened last weekend at The Matrix Theatre in West Hollywood, and was written by husband & wife team Mark Lonow & JoAnne Astrow, the former who was a founder of the famous comedy club The Improv. I play a riff on his deadbeat, Dickensian dad, and it's a chance for me to work out all my many issues with alcohol. It runs through the 23rd of September. Please come out!  Here are some kind words, via Discover Hollywood: 'Travis York is wonderful as the shifty, ne'er do well David, finding the humanity in a character that could easily fall into caricature in lesser hands. ' Here are some strangely mean and ignorant words, via Stage & Cinema: 'There’s a strange moment early on with David (York) launching into a non-specific Southern accent though the character grew up in Brooklyn. The actor is from Texas, and I wondered if it was opening night jitters, but then in the second act it is mentioned as just something the character does sometimes. Huh?'

Living the dream, Mom.

It me, on the floor, getting hit by a chicken.
